High end door knobs and lock sets use a unique installation style that hides mounting screws from view.
With round doorknobs though you may need to remove the knob in order to make the faceplate mounting screws accessible to your screwdriver.
Tighten the door hardware by opening the door squeezing both sides of the assembly together and tightening the two screws on the chassis.
On lever style handles you can almost always access the mounting screws easily.
Take a phillips screwdriver to tighten the screw on each side this will secure the handle.
This screw holds the plate in place and it is usually sunk into the side of the plate making it difficult to see at first glance.
This plate is known as a rose and can almost always be removed by hand.

Examine the edge of the door handle s metal plate on the interior side of the door looking for a hidden recessed screw.
When this occurs it s an easy matter to simply tighten these screws to snug up the door again.
Use a flat head screwdriver to carefully remove the cover plate which will expose the two phillips screws.
Try twisting or pulling the rose away from the door to expose the screws.
Use an allen key to loosen the set screw on the side and remove the door handle.
To reassemble snap the rose back on the chassis depress the release button and slide the knob back on until the button pops through the hole.
A set screw is typically installed along the base of the lock on the interior side of the door.
