Personally i think it looks weird.
Interior door handle height.
The international building code has established doorknob height between 34 and 48 inches above a finished floor.
The height of the door handle is not so much the problem as the door handle itself.
All handles pulls latches locks and other operable parts of the door should measure between 34 inches and 48 inches above the floor.

The bottom surface of doors and gates on the push side must be smooth to a height of at least 10.
General requirements for access recommends that door handles of all types should be installed at a height not less than 900mm and not more than 1100mm above the plane of the finished floor.
The other is 1965mm high with the handle at 1015mm from door and floor.
Most doors for home installation are 80 inches tall and door handles are generally placed on the door three feet from the floor.
Both handles are 80mm above the top of the cross rail and they both feel too high when i use them.
One door is 1980mm high with the centre of the handle at 1040mm from the bottom of the door and 1060mm from the floor when the door is shut.
Exceptions to the rule include doors that provide egress into swimming pools or other water features.
A few exceptions are included in the bill.
Fortunately the standards for ada door handle height are not much different than traditional recommendations.
Installers typically drill the hole centered 36 inches above the floor if not specifically instructed to do so differently.
Simply they must be installed in such a way that at the time of opening or closing the interior door there would be no inconvenience.
This facilitates access since mobility aids including wheelchair footrests are sometimes used to push or prop open doors.
